The Streamy Awards, also known as the Streamys, are presented annually by Dick Clark Productions and Tubefilter to recognize and honor excellence in online video, including directing, acting, producing and writing. The awards were founded in 2009 with over 40 categories to choose from. Winners are determined by the Streamys Blue Ribbon Panel, a judging body consisting of creators, executives, and other people in the online industry. This years Streamy Awards are scheduled to be broadcast live on VH1 / MTV. The formal ceremony takes place in Los Angeles, California. From this past week with all the latest and greatest news coming from the D23 expo, it was announced a new version of Jack and the Beanstalk would be released for 2018. The most recent version of Jack and the Beanstalk tale was the 2013 live-action version by Bryan Singer titled, Jack the Giant Slayer as well as the 2014 musical, Into the Woods. This new reboot will be set in Spain during the Age of Exploration and will be directed by Nathan Greno. Nathan Greno’s previous work includes Tangled and the movie will also be produced by Meet the Robsinsons and Get a Horse!, Dororthy Mckim. The new storyline will have many surprises for fairy tale fans and to those that enjoy a good story. There has been no announcement for cast members yet, but singer and song writers of Frozen, Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson Lopez will have some type of involvement for the film.
Moana is an upcoming hand-drawn/ computer animated film and will be the 56th film for Disney. The film is described as a “mythic adventure set around 2000 years ago and across a series of island in the South Pacific.” Moana is the spirited teenager who sets sail to complete her ancestors quest where she teams up with demi-god Maui. She also encounters sea creatures, and different worlds based off of ancient folklore. The film will be directed by John Musker and Ron Clements. This will be there first fully computer animated film and Disney’s first Polynesian princess. Dwayne Johnson and Alan Tudyk will be on board for the voice characters. The movie is set for release November 23, 2016.
It has been recently announced from Pixar that they will be moving forward with the Day of the Dead film project, Coco.Coco will be directed by Lee Unkrich, which he’s previously worked on for Toy Story 3 and Producer Darla Anderson. It was announced yesterday at the D23 Expo.
The story has not been discussed entirely but it’s described as a boy from Mexico meeting a long-dead family member. Reminds me a little bit of, The Book of Life (2014) directed by Jorge Gutierrez and produced by Guillermo del Toro. The movie will be released in the fall of 2017. Disney also announced a new movie based on Jack and the Beanstalk called Gigantic, and story details for the Finding Nemo sequel Finding Dory were also revealed during the event

Sasha is a young Russian aristocrat that has always been fascinated by the adventurous life of her late grandfather, Oloukine. He was a renowned explorer, designer de son splendid Arctic ship, the Davaï, but never came back from his last expedition to conquer the North Pole. Now, his name Is being tarnished and her family is disgraced. To save the families honor, Sasha runs away. Going a long way North, she rushes in the footsteps of her grandfather to find the famous ship.
